Title 24 is part of the California Building Standards Code that sets energy efficiency requirements for new construction and major renovations. If you’re building a new home, adding square footage, or making significant alterations to a building in California, you’ll need a Title 24 energy report to obtain your building permit. Contact us at (530) 275-3350 to find out if your project requires one.

The cost of a Title 24 energy report varies based on the size and complexity of your project. Residential reports typically start at a few hundred dollars, while larger commercial projects may cost more. Contact us at (530) 275-3350 for a free quote tailored to your specific project. We pride ourselves on competitive pricing with fast turnaround.

Most residential Title 24 reports are completed within 1-3 business days. Commercial projects may take longer depending on complexity. We pride ourselves on fast turnaround without sacrificing accuracy. Rush services are available for time-sensitive projects.

HERS (Home Energy Rating System) testing is field verification performed during and after construction to confirm that energy features were installed correctly. You typically need HERS testing when building a new home, replacing an HVAC system, or when your building department requires verification of energy compliance measures. Our certified HERS raters serve all of Northern California.

Title 24 is the energy calculation done before construction — it’s a paper analysis showing your building plans meet California’s energy code. HERS testing is the field verification done during and after construction to confirm the home was actually built according to those plans. Most projects require both: a Title 24 report for the building permit, and HERS testing for final inspection sign-off.

We serve all of California for Title 24 energy calculations and 45L tax credit services. For HERS testing and inspections (which require on-site visits), we primarily serve Northern California including Shasta, Butte, Tehama, Siskiyou, Trinity, Humboldt, Del Norte, Lassen, Modoc, Mendocino, and Plumas counties. We also provide nationwide energy consulting services including Rescheck and Comcheck.

Manual J, D, and S are ACCA standards for HVAC system design. Manual J calculates heating and cooling loads, Manual S guides equipment selection, and Manual D designs the duct system. In California, these calculations are required for new construction and HVAC replacements to ensure your system is properly sized and efficient. Improper sizing leads to comfort issues, higher energy bills, and equipment failures.

The 45L tax credit is a federal incentive for builders and developers who construct energy-efficient homes. It’s worth up to $2,500 per dwelling unit for Energy Star-certified homes, and up to $5,000 per unit for DOE Zero Energy Ready Homes. It applies to single-family homes, townhouses, and multi-family buildings of 3 stories or less. We handle all the certification paperwork so you can claim the credit.

Yes. While we’re based in Redding, CA and specialize in California’s Title 24 energy code, we also provide nationwide energy consulting services. This includes Rescheck for residential projects and Comcheck for commercial projects in states that follow the IECC (International Energy Conservation Code). Call us at (530) 275-3350 to discuss your out-of-state project.
